1. NIC ACCREDITATION TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. PURPOSE

These Accreditation Terms and Conditions govern the application, grant, maintenance, suspension, and revocation of accreditation issued by the National Institute of Caregivers (NIC) to care facilities operating within Nigeria.

By applying for NIC accreditation, a facility agrees to be bound by these Terms.


2. NATURE OF ACCREDITATION

NIC accreditation is a **professional quality assurance recognition**.

Accreditation does not constitute a statutory license or governmental approval.

3.

Accreditation signifies compliance with NIC standards **at the time of assessment**.


3. OBLIGATIONS OF ACCREDITED FACILITIES

Accredited facilities shall:

Maintain continuous compliance with NIC standards;

2.

Employ qualified and certified caregivers;

3.

Operate ethically and lawfully;

4.

Permit scheduled and unscheduled inspections;

5.

Notify NIC of material changes including:

* Ownership

* Location

* Management

* Service scope

6.

Avoid misuse or misrepresentation of NIC accreditation.


4. INSPECTION AND MONITORING

NIC may conduct inspections with or without prior notice.

2.

Facilities must grant inspectors access to:

* Premises

* Records

* Staff

3.

Obstruction or non-cooperation constitutes grounds for sanctions.


5. ACCREDITATION STATUS AND VALIDITY

1.

Accreditation is granted for a defined period not exceeding three (3) years.

2.

Accreditation is **non-transferable**.

3.

Renewal is subject to reassessment and compliance review.


6. FEES

1.

Accreditation and renewal fees are determined by NIC.

2.

Fees are non-refundable unless expressly stated.

3.

Failure to pay required fees may result in suspension.


7. SUSPENSION AND REVOCATION

NIC may suspend or revoke accreditation where a facility:

Breaches NIC standards;

Endangers clients;

Provides false information;

Fails to implement corrective actions;

Brings NIC into disrepute.

NIC’s decision shall be final, subject to internal review procedures.


8. PUBLIC DISCLOSURE

NIC may publicly disclose:

Accreditation status

Compliance category

Suspension or revocation notices


9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

NIC shall not be liable for:

Acts or omissions of accredited facilities;

Client outcomes;

Third-party claims arising from facility operations.


10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the **Federal Republic of Nigeria**.
