NIC TERMS OF USE

1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the website and digital platforms of the **National Institute of Caregivers (NIC)**. These Terms of Use govern access to and use of our website, student and member portals, and digital services. By using any NIC platform, you agree to these Terms.


2. ELIGIBILITY

You may use NIC platforms if you are at least 18 years old or accessing under lawful authority. Facilities and organizations must be legally registered entities in Nigeria.


3. SCOPE OF SERVICES

NIC provides professional training, certification, membership management, facility accreditation, and registry services. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any service at our discretion.


4. USER ACCOUNTS

Users are responsible for maintaining credential confidentiality and providing accurate information. NIC may suspend accounts for providing false data or violating platform policies.


5. PROFESSIONAL DISCLAIMER

NIC accreditation or certification does not replace statutory licenses issued by government authorities. NIC does not provide medical or legal advice. Users are encouraged to conduct independent assessments when selecting care services.


6. VERIFICATION & REGISTRY USE

Public verification tools are for informational purposes only. NIC is not liable for reliance solely on registry results. Misrepresentation of NIC certification is strictly prohibited.


7. PAYMENTS & REFUNDS

Fees for training, membership, and accreditation are subject to NIC’s published terms. Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable.


8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All content, logos, and training materials are the intellectual property of NIC and may not be reused without written permission.


9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

NIC shall not be liable for indirect damages or the actions/omissions of caregivers or facilities. Use of NIC platforms is at the user’s own risk.


10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the **Federal Republic of Nigeria**.


NIC PRIVACY POLICY


1. INTRODUCTION

NIC is committed to protecting user data in accordance with the **Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA)**.


2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect personal identity data, professional qualifications, employer details, and technical usage logs via online forms, portal registrations, and inspections.


3. PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING

Data is processed for certification administration, membership management, facility accreditation, and legal compliance.


4. DATA SHARING & DISCLOSURE

NIC may share data with authorized inspectors and regulatory agencies. Professional or facility accreditation status is made publicly available via our verification tools. We do not sell personal data to third parties.


5. DATA SECURITY & RETENTION

NIC implements technical and administrative controls to protect data. Information is retained as long as necessary for institutional purposes or as required by law.


6. USER RIGHTS
